Bridging Imagination with Reality

The project deals with the processes of artmaking by taking that process beyond the material, technique and concept, to the origin of the process, the imagination. Imagination is often spoken about in an ephemeral way as something that exists, but that cannot be understood, even if it could be argued to hold such an essential role in the process of making art laying the foundation for many choices in the execution of a project. The video represents imagination and the sculpture represents reality, based on their unique medium and material-based traits.
The video consists of computer generated images made into an animation using Blender. The sculpture is made of wood and air-drying clay that has been applied by hand, leaving fingerprints later covered by dyed resin.
The idea is that the viewer can see the video and the sculpture interact with each-other, borrowing and lending qualities to and from each other, where the video has more fluctuating qualities, changing over time, the sculpture is permanent and robust.
