I Hear Voices

The composition explores the possibilities of music looking specifically at the aesthetic interaction between singing and voice-synthesis. In particular, it is focused on notions of perception relating to the failures, realness and expressivity of the voices. It was written in conjunction with the paper The Art of Voice-Media Composition, which delineates this field of research and composition as a genre.
The performance features the singers Elaine Cormican
Siobh‡n Maguire
Marych OÕSullivan-Sanford
and Wolodymyr Smishkewych
