Smart Home is an interactive system that supports remote interactions between humans and a smart household. The objective of the project was to improve the quality of life, improve the efficiency and reduce electric energy consumption in the home. The smart home also tried to help the elders or people with disabilities solve problems in their daily life. This project used Arduino, transforming normal devices into smart devices. The application was created using the MIT App inventor.
Functions:There are two control modes of Led lights: 1. Human motion sensor control. Human motion sensor is used to detect whether someone is moving in the room. When someone is moving, Arduino will receive the signal from the sensor and turn on the Led light. 2. Mobile phone control.The bluetooth technology is used to connect the mobile App to the Arduino. Users can use the App to open or close the led light. About temperature measurement function, is to use the temperature sensors to detect temperature, then the temperature sensor send the data to Arduino. Arduino displays the data on the phone app interface via bluetooth technology, and when the temperature is too high (above 25 degrees Celsius),the App will transmit a command to the fan which is connecting to Arduino.At the end, the fan will turn on, and give cooling effect. Users can use their phones to control the fan as well. The door lock system uses vibration sensor to detect whether the door is opened by someone or not. And displays the message to the the mobile app interface by Arduino. When the door is turning to close, the app interface will change into the close situation. The air quality detector uses a dust sensor to detect particles in the environment and displays the results on the Arduino display.
