Data Booth

This research is an artistic exploration of the amount of personal detail obtained by social media platforms without the user’s implicit knowledge. The purpose of this project is to show how easily we turn over information about ourselves when asked to do so, on a phone application or a website, without realising the consequences. It is a visual representation of the overall impact by showing viewers the amount of information turned over about ourselves every day through these social media platforms. But instead of it being online the information is printed out which sudden becomes apparent to the viewers the real impulsive information the internet obtains from us every day. In turn this is the art piece an artistic piece that incorporates the objective of the study of social media and the way it affects the overall filtration of our online behaviour.
