Peripheral visualization has a profound effect on the way people recognize information through the physical and digital expression. I designed an ambient notification visualization called “Info-Lamp”. Info-Lamp is a tangible interactive visualization installation that offers users to visualize the filtering incoming emails. The intention of interactive installation is to allow users engage with their relation between the peripheral environment and emails. Meanwhile, it also is to address the relationship of transformation from the digital presence to the physical presence. This project ultimately aims at exploring tangible interaction in the management of email and enabling users to check, being alerted and deal with the different types of emails "Info-Lamp" concerns peripheral email notification visualization and it is realized through a tangible installation that offers users a glance overview of incoming emails of interest in a non-disruptive manner. Meanwhile, it is an immersive art installation, which collects the digital presence to transform the physical movement presence. Through this expression form, the visualized physical change will attract attention from the users. This type of interaction is supposed to free up users’ hands and save their time, help them manage important emails efficiently, let them focus on important tasks and improve their information productivity.
